Toot Hill's 2025 show Matilda is a massive hit!

Last week's whole school production of Matilda was just superb!
The first of five performances to an invited audience from Canarvon, Archbishop Cranmer and Robert Miles Primary Schools showed the stunning flair, energy and talent of the Green Team as they entertained over 170 students and staff for the afternoon, leaving the teachers crying with laughter and the students equally terrified and amazed by The Trunchbull! In fact Rohan's flirty and twisted portrayal of Agatha Trunchbull had the audience in stiches every night - his improvisations added a thrilling element of naughtiness to the shows and kept everyone on their toes! On Thursday night, Purple Team lived up to the high expectations set by the Greens and delivered a stunningly acted, beautifully danced and powerfully sung show that had audience members in awe of their amazing talent.
The audiences for all 5 shows left uplifted, laughing and in amazement at what 100 teenagers can do! Every night I saw another new little moment from the ensemble, who did a truly magnificent job making every moment of every scene come alive and really entertained the audience for all five shows. Our two Matildas (Skye & Kessia) were enchanting in the titular role, completely embodying the character and they gave the show a heart. Joe and Samson's Mr Wormwoods were hilarious and showed amazing comic timing, whilst Jessie and Erin played their wives brilliantly as sassy, self-obsessed cheaters. Will and Henry did a fantastic job of playing Michael making every line, look and slobbed out pose effortless and funny. Lewis's performance of Rudolpho was incredibly done and made me laugh every night! Seth's portrayal of Bruno was wonderful - the reactions, the chocolate cake and oh my goodness the voice for the start of Revolting Children just amazed me every night! And of course our caring and brave Miss Honeys, Charlotte and Chloe, gave amazing insight into the character, making more than a few audience members cry when they sang their solo - beautiful.
I would love to mention everyone by name, but I can't. So I will finish by saying, everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - who was involved with this show made it the most amazing, uplifting and wonderful experience it was. From crew to cast, band to teachers, admin to site team, you made this happen. What a wonderful legacy to leave, ingrained in the memories forever of everyone who was in or who watched this show - a unique and highly valuable experience that only we are a part of.
WELL DONE!
