Toot Hill School Excels in Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of our students in the recent Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge, a global competition entered by over three million students from around the world. Demonstrating remarkable talent and determination, all our Computer Science students participated from Year 7 to 13, with many achieving exceptional results.

An impressive 48 students from Toot Hill School were awarded the coveted 'Gold' certificate, signifying that they ranked within the top 10% of their respective categories. This accomplishment highlights their advanced problem-solving skills and aptitude for computational thinking. Remarkably, half of these high achievers — 24 students — are in Year 9, showcasing the potential and promise of our younger learners.

The ICT & Computing Department is immensely proud of all the students who participated in the challenge. Their success reflects not only their individual hard work but also the success of our redevelopment of the KS3 curriculum, which has fostered students passion for computing across many different areas.

These achievements bode well for our students' future careers in the ever-evolving field of technology. As computational thinking is a cornerstone of many modern industries, the skills honed through challenges like Bebras will undoubtedly serve them well in their academic and professional journeys.

Congratulations to all participants, and a special commendation to our Gold certificate winners for their exceptional performance. We look forward to seeing their continued success in Computer Science and beyond!
