Outstanding A Level Results
The past two years have been extremely challenging for all, but especially for our current year 13 students who missed out on the opportunity to sit official GCSE exams and went through the centre assessed grade process. This is the first set of official exams these students have sat.
The results speak for themselves with just over 43% of entries awarded grade A* or A.
“It’s been a successful year for our students with their A-Level results. Our results this year have shown the resilience of our students and they have lived our motto which is Dare to Know” said Head of College Catherine Mordue.
A level Student Keisha Dowlman had great success this year. Securing A*A*A, she will be going to Cambridge University to study English Literature next year. “It’s been a very long journey full of obstacles but it was worth it in the end. It’s a lot to process but I’m so happy with my results”
Erfan Alipour came to Toot Hill School in year 8 and stayed on with us to study his A level courses. Erfan, who struggled to speak English when he first came to Toot Hill, thanked teaching staff for their support during his journey through Toot Hill, helping him achieve ABB and securing his place at Loughborough University to study Construction Management.
Pari Kashavji went through personal losses at the start of her A level journey. Sadly Pari’s mum passed away in late 2020 and she also lost her grandmother, auntie and great aunt during the pandemic. “I did this for them and my myself, I worked so hard for this and I’m so proud of what I achieved” Pari will be studying English Literature at Bristol University, with the opportunity to study abroad for a year after achieving A*A*A at A level.
Megan Preece achieved three A*s and will be heading to Newcastle University in September, “It’s great to see the hard work pay off. A levels were the first exams I have sat; my results were very unexpected”
Alice Fender also received three A*s and will be studying Economics and Finance at University of Newcastle in September. Alice is “over the moon with her results and it has been rewarding to see my hard work payoff”
Sakina Adamjee had great success in her vocational studies, securing two Distinction*s and one Distinction allowing her to study Business at Nottingham Trent University next year.
This year group has overcome huge obstacles and adversity over the pandemic and the results really show how hard they have worked to secure top grades and their university choices. We are extremely proud of the class of 2022.
