'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' Theatre Trip 19th March 2015
Over 120 Year 7 students enjoyed a moving and memorable performance of John Boyne’s poignant novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ at Nottingham Theatre Royal. Students have been studying the novel, which is set during World War II and explores the forbidden friendship between Bruno, the eight-year-old son of a commandant at a concentration camp and Shmuel, a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence.
Students praised the exceptional talent of the young performers and commented on the effectiveness of the staging, costumes and beautiful violin music. Many students described the performance as ‘incredible’ and are looking forward to more exciting theatre visits in the future. Huge thank you to all staff who supported on the trip…here’s to many more!
