Chinese Exchange

Students at Toot Hill School had the pleasure of hosting 20 students from Cixi Experimental High School in China this term. 20 students from year 9 and 10 took on the responsibility of looking after a Chinese student. Students took part in a range of activities throughout the week including cooking, mini sports, activities in the learning lounge and the Chinese students were able to experience a range of different lessons in different subjects with them. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students and they all made the most of their experience; from translating key phrases at home the night before they arrived to creating a ‘welcome to England’ box of goodies to buying presents for them at the end of the week. It was great to see these students so welcoming and so interested in finding out about Chinese education, culture and traditions. I would like to say a big thank you and well done to those students involved.
