Historic event for Toot Hill School
Another chapter in the Toot Hill Dance Band's book of legacies was written on Saturday night, 7th March. The gig was organised by Nathan Bray (Dance band alumni / top trumpeter in the UK) and Colin Smith (Dance Band Music Director). The first half featured the current Toot Hill Big Band, lead by Tony Farrell, who has done wonders to inspire and instill confidence in our youngsters. The second half featured a band of Toot Hill Dance Band alumni, many of whom are now professional musicians. The Big Band did the school proud: four of its newest members are the children of Dance Band alumni. The Dance Band was absolutely mesmerising in its musicianship and audience appeal: it was hard to believe we were being treated to that calibre of musicianship right here on our doorstep! A massive 'thank you' to all who contributed.
