January exam

No written examination.

Practical assessments take place in October (singing) and February (drum kit).

June exam

‚ÄčNo written examination.

Students in 8a, d, f, g, j and l will make a presentation on the topic 'Discuss the relationship of image and sound in Pop Music, using Katy Perry's Chained To The Rhythm as a case study'. The presentation will be marked according to the Edexcel GCSE 12 mark essay question (Section B of the exam paper). Students will be able to access a maximum of a grade 9 for their presentation. This will count a third of their final year 8 mark when combined with their two practical assessments this year.
