Why do AS/A Level?
A level Drama involves studying a unique combination skills. Drama students are creative, empathetic, inquisitive, analytical and evaluative. They spend time exploring people, culture, relationships, politics, performance, vocal skills and so much more… universities and employers love it!
We study the Edexcel A Level in Drama and Theatre and focus on making the journey a 'practical first' one. Whilst students do sit a written exam (worth 40%) and complete written coursework, all of this is based on what they have done practically. Students spend time bringing the set texts to life through performance and design, they develop well-honed creative skills in a range of styles and explore a wide range of practitioners. Have a look at our Toot Hill College Open Evening presentation for more information or the Scheme of Work section.
Highlights for next year include: a trip to the National Student Drama Festival for workshops and to see innovative new theatre, workshops with professionals and plenty of performing opportunities!
