Blood Bros

Last week 192 pupils from years 9 and 10 travelled down to London's West-end to watch the annual production of Willy Russell's classic musical tragedy, Blood Brothers.

The trip got off to a great start with all pupils arriving on time and ready to go. Unfortunately, bus 1 broke down just outside of Bingham! After a quick dash to the depot and a part replaced, they were soon back on the road and still made the show with plenty of time to spare.

This year's show was as spectacular as ever and pupils even got to meet the lead actor, Mark Rice-Oxley who played Mickey! A big thank you to Shakti-Rose Das and her mum for helping to arrange this. Pupils went home with their programmes and tickets signed so will always have a memento of the day.

Thanks to all those staff who made the day possible and to parents for picking pupils up so late at night!

The English team

"I really enjoyed the show and getting to go to London." (Ellie Johnson, Y10)

"Seeing the play on stage definitely helped me understand it." (Dillan Deach, Y10)
